Patriarch Albert of Jerusalem, the papal legate, rules on a dispute between Helyas, son of the late Paganus Pictaviensis, and Girardus, preceptor hospitalis Theutonicorum, over a house, situated within an enclosed group of houses of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, which Helyas claims was his own. Accepting 25 besants from the [preceptor] Helyas renounces his claims. Witnesses: Iohannes de Ybelino baiulus regni Ierosolimitani; Radulfus de Tyberiade eiusdem regni senescalcus; comes Bertoldus Theutonicus; Andreas de Vituli vicecomes venatorum; Henricus Alamannus; Michael de Ierusalem. text: Feb. 14. Acre. In the patriarch’s palatium. The record of the arbitration by Patriarch Albert of Jerusalem on a dispute between Martinus Rozia, a citizen of Genoa, and frater Hermannus, magister hospitalis Alamanorum de Acon, over a house in Tyre that had belonged to the late Theodorus Surianus. The patriarch rules that frater Hermannus should give Martinus Rozia 60 properly weighed Saracen besants of Syria. Martinus accepts, provided the gold coins are properly weighed, and surrenders to frater Armannus the charter he has that relates to the house. Witnesses: Galterius Acconensis episcopus; frater Lodoicus; Aldo ecclesie sancte crucis de Accon canonicus; Obertus Aurie; Nicholaus Spinola. Feb. 14. Acre. In the patriarch’s palatium.
