text: Feb. 18 - Dec. 24. [94] Acre. Raymond III comes Tripolitanus records under seal his arbitration in a dispute between on one side Bernardus abbas Montis Thabor and on the other Petrus de Nimenes and his brother of the same name. Agreement was reached in the house of Giraldus de Conilz in Acre. Bernardus, together with the chapter of Mt Tabor sold the lease to whatever the abbey had in the neighbourhood of the city of Tripoli, a casale called Betahmum situated in the territory of Mont Pèlerin and everything else it possessed in the county of Tripoli to Petrus de Nimenes and his brother for 25 years. Petrus de Nimenes and his brother had to make a down payment of 900 besants and provide an annual census of 100 Saracen besants, payable at Easter. After 25 years the casale and the other properties would revert to the abbey, irrespective of any improvements that had been made to them. The brothers could alienate the properties by sale, pledge or gift within the 25 years, provided they were not granted to any religious community or secular knights [milites] and the abbey continued to enjoy the census. The abbey will have preemption rights. If the Muslims [hostes Crucis Christi] should destroy the houses, olive trees or vineyards, the brothers would be absolved paying rent until they could do so.
