Bohemond III, dei gratia princeps Antiochenus, the son of Prince Raymond, records that with the consent of his chapter Ioannes abbas of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat has, at the prince’s request, leased a gastina called Uetus Funda, owned by the abbey at Latakia, to Philippus de Logiis for a rent [censualiter] of 21 besants of Antioch [bisancii Antiocheni], payable each year on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. If the rent should not be paid within 15 days of the due date, the abbey may repossess the gastina with the buildings in it. Witnesses: Hugo de Logiis; Richerius de Lerminat; Galterius de Archiquin; Bernardus Soberan; Willelmus Abbas; Ioffredus de Molins. The charter was drawn up by Willelmus vicecancellarius.Apr. 1-12.
