Tancred Marchisius, constituted lord of Tiberias with all of Galilee by Duke Godfrey, totius Orientis serenissimus princeps, and wishing to renovate the churches in his lands, restores to the abbey of Mt Tabor its ancient possessions, with the exception of some tithes which have been granted in the interim to knights [milites]. He grants Abbot Gerard Mt Tabor itself and the following casalia: Kapharthemme/Kapharchemme; Kapharsepti; Naym/Raym; Seiera; Lubie; Arbel; together with others devastated by warfare, Casta; Mesara; Iubeim; Messa; Endor; Maluf; Elful; Mangana; Cresum; Buria; Capharmada; Huseme and Sesye by the river Jordan; across the river Jordan and held by the Turks [Turci] , Kaharthe; Teletarpe/Taletarpe; Perek; Ayton; Kapharsakai/Kapharsa Kary/Capharsalia; Naame in the mountains by Panyas; [9] Alma de Suchen/Suralma de Fuchen in the mountains by Tyre. comments: [9] Mayer (UKJ 1:124; 4:1650) reads this as a specific location, Panya Naame, which he identifies with a tribal district: Banu Nu ‘aim, Israel, PG 183/225. But Pope Paschal II’s letter of 29 July 1103 and King Baldwin I’s charter of Mar 25 – Sept 23 1106 confirm rather that the phrase should be read as referring to Naame/Neeme in the territory of Paneas [Banias].

text: Mar. 25 – Sept. 23. In the presence of many of his milites, Baldwin, rex Ierosolimitanus, makes an eleemosynary gift to the abbey of Mt Tabor. He confirms whatever belongs to the abbey and its monks, on condition that any property held by one of his knights should remain in that knight’s possession until his death, after which it will revert to the abbey. The names of the casalia are: Husie; Sesie; and others beyond the Jordan that are now held by Turks, Kaharthe; Teletarpe; Pereka; Ayton; Kafarsakai; Naame in monte Panya; Alma de Suchen on the mountains by Tyre; and on this side of the Jordan, Kapharchemme; Kapharseti; Sysara; Lubie and Erpelle; Casta; Mesara; Iubeim; Messa; Capharmater; Caphartamara; Salona; Maluf; Kara; Solem; Elful; Capharmanda; Creisum; Endor; Naim; Buria; Mangana; Noriz; Tubania; Ieluf. There are many others, the names of which are not known. Baldwin, rex Ierosolimis dono dei impositus, promises to return those casalia he holds within three years. Mar. 25 – Sept. 23.
