With the agreement of her son King Baldwin III, Melisende, dei gratia Ierosolimorum regina, makes a sealed eleemosynary gift to Willelmus abbas and the monks of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat of a casale called Cafracos, which is situated not far from St Mary’s casale called Aschar. Excluded from the gift is a particula terre in the possession of a certain turcopolus. In return a priest will offer Mass at the tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Melisende’s benefit and that of her relations. Witnesses: Amalricus patriarcha Ierosolimitanus; Gerardus Laodicensis episcopus; Amalricus, Iopensium comes; Rohardus Neapolitanus; Balduinus, vicecomitis Neapolitani filius; Balduinus Bubalus vicecomes Neapolitanus; Iohannes de Valentienes; Iohannes Uacarius; Gerardus Passerellus; magister Stephanus; Gislebertus de Funda. Baldwin, per gratiam dei in sancta Hierusalem Latinorum rex quartus, at the request of Queen Melisende his mother, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming Melisende’s gift to the abbot Willelmus and the monks of the abbey of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat of a casale called Cafracos, situated not far from Ascar, with the exception of a particula already given to a turcopolus, on condition that Mass is solemnly celebrated by a priest for her benefit and that of her relations. Witnesses: Humfredus de Torone constabularius; Galterius de Sancto Audemaro castellanus, nunc domnus Tyberiadensis; Gormundus Tyberiadensis; Guillelmus marescalcus regis; Guillelmus marescalcus Tyberiadensis; Odo de Sancto Amando; Ottho de Risberge; Galterius de Guella.
