This palace was given to him by King Baldwin II of Jerusalem, Alice’s father, and his ownership of it was confirmed by Bohemond II, the son of Bohemond the Great. At the orders of Princess Alice this gift is recorded in a charter by Robertus cancellarius domine principisse and sealed with the seal of the prince.
