The Hospitallers are free to bring in or take out, sell or buy their goods throughout the whole of the principality without payment of any exaction, but if their homines sell or buy goods that are not the property of the Hospital, the accustomed duty [consuetudo] will be payable to the prince’s curia. He gives the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, frater Gaufridus du Donion magister and its brothers the city wall of Acre over the Gate of St John and the barbacan [berbacana], and the platea that is between the wall and the barbacan, to build there a gate, together with as much of the ditch as is needed for the building.
