Iohannes the son of Georgius Arrabicus held the casale in fief [in feudo] from Balianus, and Balianus in turn from Balduinus Ramatensis and Balduinus Ramatensis from King Baldwin IV. No rights of lordship and service [dominium vel servitium] will be retained by Balduinus Ramatensis or the king except for the scribanagium of Georgius de Betheri. Eschiva confirms her assent in the presence of the witnesses: dominus Balianus avunculus Eschive; Rabuegl; Balduinus de Rohes; dominus Palestel; Hugo de Mirabel; Hugo de Orgeolo; Ernaudus Mercator; Richerus de Mirabel. With the permission of King Baldwin rex Jerosolimitanus Latinorum sextus, at the request of Johannes Arrabitus and his brothers Petrus and Henricus, and with the agreement of his brother Balianus, his daughters Eschiva and Stephania and their husbands Hemericus and Amalricus vicecomes Neapolitanus, Balduinus Ramatensis dominus confirms under seal the sale made by Johannes Arrabitus to domina Constancia S. Egidii comitissa, the sister of the king of France, of the casale of Bethduras for 5800 besants. The casale was held in feudo by Balduinus from King Baldwin, by his brother Balianus from Balduinus and by Johannes Arrabitus in feudo from Balianus. The casale, freed from servitium, passes entirely to Constancia, with the exception of the scribanagium of Georgius de Betheri. Balduinus, Balianus and Johannes Arrabitus are guarantors of the sale. The confirmation is made in the presence of King Baldwin.
