To compensate the leprosary of St Lazarus, which owned the mill, she makes a sealed eleemosynary gift to St Lazarus of a 5 terre carruatae of vines on the plain of Bethlehem on condition that Georgius and Salomon, the cultivators of the vineyard, receive half the produce of their labour. Raimundus Hospitalis sancte Iherusalem pauperum Christi dispensator, records that, with the agreement of Count Raymond II of Tripoli, his wife Countess Hodierna and his son Raimundus, he has bought 2 casalia, called Kafarrique and Fellara, and houses in Castellum Album from domina Armensendis de Castro Novo, with the agreement of her daughters Ugona and Berengaria and of Leodogarius, the husband of Ugona. Raimundus also accepts houses in burgo, given in alms by Count Raymond of Tripoli, together with a casale called Cendina, which is across the river, and a vineyard which had belonged to Hassennus Riserius. He also acquired the houses in castello left to the Hospital by Rigaudus, who has died. text: Feb. 5. Robertus de casali S. Egidii and his wife Odula remit 100 of the 500 besants owed them annually by the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. The remaining 400 will be paid 4 times a year, 100 each on the Feasts of Easter, the Nativity of St John the Baptist, All Saints and Christmas. If payment is not made within 40 days Robert and his heirs can reoccupy the land until the rent is paid. In return for the remission, Raimundus magister and the Hospital have, at the request of Robertus and Odula, purchased the casale of Teira, which is next to Calanson, from Pisellus de casale S. Egidii, his wife Arsen, his sons Dudo/Dudonis and Johannes, and Agnes, the wife of Dudo, for 1,000 besants, with the agreement of Gualterius Maledoctus and his wife Milisendis. Gualterius Maledoctus promises that he will demand no service for the casale from the Hospital, in return for which he receives 400 besants from Robertus de casale S. Egidii. Dudo, the son of Pisellus is made a vassal [homo] of Gualterius, paying each year 250 besants in return for the Hospital’s assurance that it will demand no service from the casale. Melisende, divina largiente clementia Iherosolimorum regina, with the consent of her sons King Baldwin III and Amalricus Ioppensium comes, renounces under seal her claims against the canons of the Holy Sepulchre, with respect to the villani of Bethsuric, namely Selmen filius Maadi; Habderahmen; Selim; Hasem; Nasen; Mekedem/Melpedem/Melpeclem; Seleemen; Sade; Brahin; Kannet; Nasser; Ariz; Mahmut; Zafer; Demsis; Resselem; Tameh; Rosec; Sahe; Salem filius Sade and the others, and the land in the casale. The canons are to have these as freely as they did in the time of Duke Godfrey [of Bouillon].
