Baldwin, rex Iudee et Ierusalem ac defensor sanctissimi Sepulcri domini nostri Ihesu Christi, gives the church of St Laurence of Genoa plateae in Jerusalem and Jaffa; a third part of Asur/Arciuf and Caesarea, with a third part of their territories, which extend for a league, together with a casale in each; a third part of Acre, with a third part of the city territory which extends for a league; 300 besants a year in exchange for other casalia; a third part of every city and its territory which the Genoese help to take with 50 or more soldiers, together with a casale; and a third part of Old Cairo [Babilon] with three of the better casalia of their choice. Baldwin swears never to harm or imprison Genoese, who will pay no commercium; neither will merchants from Savona, Noli or Albenga or the family of Gandulfus Pisanus filius Fiopie/Tropię. Baldwin renounces rights on the goods of Genoese who die in his dominions and on shipwreck. text: 1103 – Feb. 28 1105. At the request of the late Johannes filius et canonicus ecclesię Sancti Sepulcri, Raymond [of St Gilles], comes atque christianᶒ militiᶒ excellentissimus princeps in partibus Syriᶒ makes an eleemosynary gift to the church of the Holy Sepulchre of a house on Mont Pèlerin, which had been a mosque [que domus antiquo tempore immundis paganorum supersticionibus dedita fuerit]. It is to be converted into a church. At the request of Johannes, Raymond also gives the church of the Holy Sepulchre the church of Sanctus Georgius quę est in montanis, in the presence of Decanus de Poscheriis; capellanus suus Pons de Grilione; Rostagnus de Port; and Bernardus prior de Bethleem. Raymond further promises that once the city of Tripoli is in his hands he will give the church of the Holy Sepulchre the next best church in the city after the principal one, together with revenues sufficient to support 13 clergy [clerici] in residence. 1103 – Feb. 28 1105. text: Mar. 25 – Sept. 23. In the presence of many of his milites, Baldwin, rex Ierosolimitanus, makes an eleemosynary gift to the abbey of Mt Tabor. He confirms whatever belongs to the abbey and its monks, on condition that any property held by one of his knights should remain in that knight’s possession until his death, after which it will revert to the abbey. The names of the casalia are: Husie; Sesie; and others beyond the Jordan that are now held by Turks, Kaharthe; Teletarpe; Pereka; Ayton; Kafarsakai; Naame in monte Panya; Alma de Suchen on the mountains by Tyre; and on this side of the Jordan, Kapharchemme; Kapharseti; Sysara; Lubie and Erpelle; Casta; Mesara; Iubeim; Messa; Capharmater; Caphartamara; Salona; Maluf; Kara; Solem; Elful; Capharmanda; Creisum; Endor; Naim; Buria; Mangana; Noriz; Tubania; Ieluf. text: Mar 25? - Aug. Tancred, Dei gratia Antiochenus princeps/dux et princeps Antiochenus qui tunc orientali, Deo favente, dominabitur regioni, comes to an agreement with the Pisans. They will help him take Latakia from the Greeks, who have unjustly seized that city by force. If God grants him Latakia he promises the Pisans free occupation of a vicus called the Voltae Prodromi, which runs in one direction as far as [the church of] St Nicholas and in the other to the seashore and Iron Well [puteus ferreus]. He allows their ships [naves et galeae] to visit the port of Latakia. The Pisans can enter and leave whenever they wish without paying any dues or customs. He also gives the Pisans the vicus Sancti Salvatoris in the city of Antioch and general freedom throughout all his land and ports. The agreement is confirmed by: B. Bohemond of Taranto agrees to become a vassal of the Byzantine empire for Antioch, which he will hold of the Emperor Alexius and his son John as a liegeman [ἀνθρωπος λίζιος] with the title of dux. The possessions granted to him are specified: the city of Antioch; Port St Simeon; Dux; Kaukas; Lulon; Thaumaston Oros; Phersia; the military district of St Elias; Baghras; the military district of Larissa [Shaizar]; the military districts of Artah and Telouch; Marash and the Amanus Mountains, Palatza and the theme of Zume. Bohemond is given licence to expand eastwards to Aleppo and into Cappadocia and Mesopotamia, including Edessa and the themes of Limnioi and Aetos. The territories occupied by the Armenians in Cilicia are excluded and Bohemond will surrender all claims to Latakia, Gibel, Valenia, Maraclea and Tortosa and will allow the appointment of a Greek patriarch of Antioch *September.
